A Kingdom that Shall Never Be Destroyed

History is remarkably repetitive. Like a broken record, the same story unfolds itself century after century: A nation rises to prominence, wealth, and power. It has a golden age in which it becomes convinced it is the last great power. Gradually, internal weakness and external force bring the nation crumbling down.
“And I will not be a burden, for I seek not what is yours but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children. I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls”(2 Cor 12:14-15).
Money was an issue for many of Paul’s detractors in Corinth. Paul did not want money to be an issue, so he assured them he would receive no support when he came to them. “For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children”(2 Cor 12:14).
When Barnabas saw the incredible work going on in Antioch, he knew he had to get Paul. “Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul”(Acts 11:25). Barnabas saw the potential in Paul to be outstanding at working with Gentiles and converting a Gentile city—and he was right.
