Adversity and the Adversary

Tim Copeland

Adversity - breaking through Proverbs 17:17 tells us “a brother is born for adversity.” There are several examples of adversity in the Bible – Job suffered the loss of everything in his life except his wife yet he maintained his integrity. In 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, Paul mentions his “thorn in the flesh” and says it is a messenger of Satan. In fact, the name “Satan” means “the adversary.”

This study looks at why God allows us to suffer adversity and why it is a work for good.
